Building a Positively Resilient Culture

By

At LTADD, our mission is to serve the eight counties of Central Kentucky with excellence. We recognize that to achieve this, we must first look inward and prioritize our most valuable resource: our people.

True regional leadership isn’t just about managing projects, it’s about fostering a workplace where every team member feels empowered, supported, and ready to meet the evolving needs of our communities. Our leadership has worked hard to establish a work culture built on our  CHAMPIONS values, which fosters an environment for success, but we know that establishing these values is only one piece of the cultural success story. Maintaining that culture requires commitment and intention, and we took a significant step forward in this commitment by partnering with Rita Ernst of Ignite Your Extraordinary.

Our team recently engaged in a specialized Positively Resilient training session designed to help us navigate the complexities of a constantly growing region with a renewed sense of purpose. In the fast-paced world of regional planning and economic growth, resilience is the key to sustainable success.

The training focused on several vital areas of our culture:

  • Deepening Professional Relationships: Strengthening the bonds between our departments to ensure we are operating as one cohesive unit.
  • Enhancing Collaboration: Developing the communication tools necessary to turn regional challenges into collaborative victories.
  • Building Resilience: Equipping our staff with the mental and emotional tools to stay positive and proactive, even when facing high-pressure deadlines or difficult projects.

By investing in our internal culture, we are directly investing in the quality of service we provide to our member cities and counties. A resilient team is an effective team. When our staff feels valued and equipped, they are better prepared to drive innovation in infrastructure, workforce development, community planning, and aging services.

We want to thank Rita Ernst for helping us “ignite the extraordinary” within our organization. As we move forward, the lessons learned during this training will serve as the foundation for how we collaborate, lead, and serve.

At LTADD, we aren’t just building a region, we are building a team that is Positively Resilient.
