Wishing Ashley Willoughby a Happy (Second) Retirement

By

We often say that once you’re part of the LTADD team, you’re always part of the team. This has never been truer than in the case of Ashley Willoughby, who has officially retired from the LTADD for the second time.

After initially retiring from a long and distinguished career with the District, Ashley answered the call to return to service this past November. Stepping into the role of infrastructure specialist within the CAPE (Community Asset Planning & Engineering) Division, he provided a steady hand during a high-growth period for our region’s water and sewer infrastructure.

“Ashley’s willingness to return to LTADD is a true testament to his character,” LTADD Executive Director Daniel London said. “We are incredibly grateful for his continued dedication to LTADD and the entire Lincoln Trail region. His leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark on our communities, and we thank him for his years of tireless service.”

During his most recent tenure, Ashley focused on more than just projects, he focused on the future of the region. He spent significant time training and mentoring our new Community Asset Planner, Izzy Miller, ensuring that his decades of institutional knowledge were passed on to the next generation of LTADD leaders.

Ashley’s impact on the eight-county Lincoln Trail region is hard to overstate. His deep understanding of the complex world of grants and his technical expertise in community utilities have been the driving force behind countless successful local projects.

“We can’t thank Ashley Willoughby enough for stepping out of retirement to return to the LTADD family and help us during a critical time,” said CRED Division Director Krista Levee, Ashley’s previous director. “His knowledge, experience, and expertise are truly unmatched when it comes to grants and understanding the water and sewer needs of communities throughout our region. The fact that he was willing to come out of retirement to support us speaks volumes about his character, commitment, and deep dedication to our counties and cities. We are incredibly grateful for his leadership and willingness to serve once again. Thank you, Ashley, and enjoy your retirement … again!”

Ashley’s willingness to pause his own retirement to support our cities and counties is a testament to the “service-first” attitude that defines LTADD. Because of his work, our region is better planned, better funded, and better prepared for the future.

We wish Ashley all the best as he returns to his well-deserved retirement.
