Supporting Our Workforce: Rapid Response and Career Showcase Assistance

At the Lincoln Trail Area Development District, we are committed to being a steady resource for our region’s workforce, especially during times of transition. Recently, our team and partners stepped up to provide intensive support for BlueOval SK employees and local job seekers through a series of high-impact events at the Kentucky Career Center-Lincoln Trail in Elizabethtown.

From Feb. 16 through the 20, we focused on immediate needs and future opportunities, ensuring that those affected by employment changes had the tools they needed to move forward.

To streamline assistance for BlueOval SK employees, the Office of Unemployment Insurance mobile unit was on-site at the Elizabethtown center. This office on wheels provided a convenient, face-to-face way for workers to navigate the complexities of filing unemployment insurance claims.

The impact was significant: 592 individuals received direct assistance with their claims, either through the mobile unit or inside the Career Center.

By bringing these services directly to the Career Center, we were able to reduce wait times and provide personalized guidance during a critical week.

While addressing immediate needs was a priority, we also looked toward the future. Simultaneously, the KCC-LT hosted a KCC Showcase week, transforming the Elizabethtown center into a dynamic, week-long job fair.

This event served as a bridge between talented local workers and employers looking to hire. The turnout exceeded expectations:

• 15 employers and resource providers were on-site daily to share information and interview candidates.
• 589 job seekers attended throughout the week.
• 362 BlueOval SK employees took advantage of the showcase to explore new career paths and meet with area businesses.

These events are a testament to the power of the Rapid Response model. By coordinating with the OUI, local employers, and resource providers, we created a one-stop shop for stability and growth.
