Spreading Holiday Cheer: LTADD Aging continues the ‘Stuff a Stocking for a Senior’ program

For the second year in a row, the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) Aging & Independent Living department is bringing holiday joy and support to seniors in the eight counties they serve through the “Stuff a Stocking for a Senior” program.

Each year, the LTADD team members gather donations from individuals, organizations, and businesses to provide stockings to area seniors served by LTADD who have been identified by their case workers as needing a bit of Christmas cheer and much-needed supplies.

The goal is to provide a mix of nutritious, non-perishable food items, personal care essentials, and cozy comfort items.

  • Non-Perishable Food: Jars of peanut butter, cans of tuna, boxes of crackers, oatmeal, cereal, rice, fruit cups, and even shelf-stable items like fully cooked bacon.
  • Toiletries & Personal Care: Deodorant, combs, wipes, and other hygiene essentials.
  • Comfort Items: Cozy fleece blankets and activity books like word hunts and calendars.

The success of the “Stuff a Stocking for a Senior” program relies entirely on the generosity of the community. A massive thank you to the following individuals, businesses, and organizations for their contributions:

Your support ensures that these seniors, who might otherwise go without, receive a special gift and a reminder that their community cares during the Christmas season.

The program, which started in 2024, has proven to be a tremendous success. LTADD hopes to continue building on this momentum each year to reach even more seniors across the eight-county region.
