LTADD Engineering recently completed a bridge improvement project in Marion County at Medlock Creek Road, utilizing City-County Bridge Improvement Program (CCBIP) funds from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Department of Rural and Municipal Aid. LTADD Engineering supported Marion County Government through the entire reconstruction process: from assessment, design, application, review, and execution.
The aging bridge had long posed safety concerns for local residents and travelers. The original bridge consisted of a narrow roadway width, structural wear, and even a reduced load rating posted by KYTC. Increasing traffic demands prompted county officials to pursue a full replacement.
Marion County Judge/Executive David Doughtery worked closely with LTADD Engineering to apply for the coveted CCBIP funds to make this bridge a reality. Construction on the new bridge began on November 3, 2025, and was open to traffic in early December. The new bridge was designed with a focus on long-term durability and improved driver safety. One of the most notable enhancements is its added width—the replacement bridge is five feet wider than the original structure, providing motorists with a more comfortable and secure travel path.
