LTADD Secures Over $650K for Local Bridge Projects
At Lincoln Trail Area Development District, we are committed to helping our communities turn infrastructure challenges into funded realities. By working with the Fiscal Courts of Green and Marion counties, our technical assistance has helped them secure more than $650,000 in grant funding for critical bridge improvements. These awards are part of a larger $6.5 million statewide investment through the County and City Bridge Improvement Program (CCBIP), recently announced by Gov. Andy Beshear.
The secured funds will go directly toward repairing and replacing aging structures that are essential for local travel and commerce. The two projects receiving funding are:
- Green County Fiscal Court awarded $441,186: This grant will fund the replacement of the Doc Ward Road bridge. Currently, heavy vehicles must take a mandatory 2-mile detour; this project will restore a critical route for agricultural traffic.
- Marion County Fiscal Court awarded $215,862.59: These funds are designated for essential repairs to the Horan Lane bridge, ensuring its long-term safety and stability for all residents.’
“These projects are about more than just concrete and steel, they are about keeping Kentuckians moving and our families safe,” said Charlie Allen, LTADD Engineering, Design and Mapping director. “By securing these grants, we are ensuring that local budgets aren’t stretched thin while still addressing the urgent infrastructure needs of our communities.”
Navigating state and federal grant processes can be complex, and LTADD is proud to serve as a high-impact partner for our local governments. By securing these grants, we ensure that urgent infrastructure needs are met without stretching local budgets thin.
Our commitment to modernizing the region’s transportation network is repeatedly awarded through the grant process. Over the last two years, LTADD has successfully assisted five counties in securing nine bridge grants through the CCBIP program, totaling nearly $4 million in funding.
LTADD continues to work across the Lincoln Trail region of Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties and beyond to provide innovative solutions for our community’s unique needs. If your county or local government has a vital bridge construction need, call or email Charlie Allen to see if this program is right for the project.
