Honoring a Lifetime of Service: Breckinridge County board member recognized by Lincoln Trail ADD

By

At our recent Annual Meeting, the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) had the distinct honor of celebrating the incredible career and contributions of one of our longest-serving leaders, Ted Brown. After 32 years of unwavering dedication to our region, Ted is stepping down, leaving behind a legacy of public service that few can match.

A lifelong resident of the Irvington community, Ted’s commitment to his neighbors began long ago. His political legacy is marked by 22 years as a city councilman, followed by a term as the Mayor of Irvington from 1999 to 2002. Even after his mayoral term ended, Ted continued his service as a citizen member of the LTADD Board starting in 2011.

His dedication is best reflected in his remarkable 86% attendance record over the years, including three years of perfect attendance. Whether it was the Board, the Executive Committee, or the Aging Advisory Council, if there was a meeting to improve our community, Ted was there.

Ted’s influence extends far beyond local government. For 18 years, he served as the Scoutmaster for Pack 95, shaping the lives of young men in our region. His commitment to youth development was so profound that he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, one of the highest honors in Scouting for distinguished service.

From his leadership on the Parish Council of Holy Guardian Angel Church to his constant presence at Senior Celebrations, Ted has lived a life defined by loyalty and self-sacrifice.

Behind every great leader is a support system, and for Ted, that is his loving wife, Barbara. Barbara has been a constant fixture at Ted’s side, accompanying him to meetings and celebrations across the region. We owe a debt of gratitude to Barbara, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for sharing Ted with us for over three decades.

As Ted moves into this next chapter, LTADD wants to express our deepest thanks for his 32 years of service. His wisdom, reliability, and heart for the Lincoln Trail region will be greatly missed.

Please join us in thanking Ted Brown for everything he has done for our region!
