Blog Post: Phillips Brothers Construction awarded bid for groundwork at LTADD expansion

The Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) recently announced that Phillips Brothers Construction, LLC has been awarded the bid for the initial ground leveling work for the upcoming LTADD expansion and the adjacent site of the potential YMCA, spearheaded by the Central Kentucky Community Foundation (CKCF). This community-minded bid will ensure both projects are highly cost-effective for the community and region.

“This construction project will directly benefit our entire region today and for generations to come, so we asked interested responders to consider the lasting impact of their work,” said LTADD Executive Director Daniel London. “Phillips Brothers Construction took that request to heart and are literally paving the way for this growth.”

The initial phase of this significant undertaking involves preparing the four-acre property, which sits next to a possible future YMCA location. Phillips Brothers Construction will handle the leveling of both sites, utilizing fill dirt from the YMCA property to prepare the LTADD site.

“Our work is more than just leveling ground; it’s about preparing our region for the future,” said Brandon Phillips, project manager and a remote pilot at Phillips Brothers Construction. “When this bid request was presented, we knew we wanted to do whatever possible to support these projects.”

Following the dirt work, substantial parking will be added to the LTADD site, nearly doubling the existing parking capacity. The third phase will involve the construction of a new LTADD building, approximately 5,000 square feet on each level, separated from the existing facility by the new parking lot.

“Central Kentucky Community Foundation (CKCF) is grateful for Phillips Brother’s generous support of this potential project,” said Davette B. Swiney, president and CEO of CKCF. “We are one step closer to making a YMCA a reality for the families, children, adults, and seniors of our region.”

Phillips Brothers Construction will be onsite at the beginning of November. The work is estimated to take three to four weeks and is weather dependent.
