BLOG POST | LTADD hosts planning workshop for Affordable Housing & Homelessness

By
This week, area representatives came together for a discovery workshop to uncover assets and barriers in the region that impact housing and affordability as part of the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) commissioned study on Affordable Housing and Homelessness Study in Hardin, LaRue, Meade, and Nelson counties. Participants represented local government, regional nonprofits, state agencies, faith-based communities and more.
The workshop is a critical part of the study, which began in spring 2025. The study is funded by private donors in order to uncover assets and barriers to affordable housing development and unhoused populations, as well as identifying opportunities to improve the housing ecosystem. This includes specific insights about homelessness in Hardin County.
LTADD is contracting the study with TPMA, a nationally recognized consulting firm. TPMA has been gathering and analyzing data, researching aspects of the specified areas with specific examination of programs and services to address homelessness – further identifying shortfalls and methods to mitigate.
TPMA will develop a final Affordable Housing and Homelessness report with short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to meet housing needs that can be adopted by local governments and supported by local stakeholders.
