A Recap of the December LTWDB Meeting

By

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board (LTWDB) gathered for its quarterly meeting. While these meetings are a regular part of the board’s regional governance, the timing of this session was particularly significant as our community navigates new transitions in the manufacturing sector.

If you aren’t familiar with the LTWDB, it is the local, business-led group dedicated to the employment health of our region. Our mission is to connect job seekers with employers by:

  • Setting regional workforce strategies.
  • Analyzing labor market data to predict future needs.
  • Overseeing local Kentucky Career Centers to provide high-quality training and job placement services.

During the meeting, Daniel London, Executive Director of the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD), shared insights into the ADD’s five-year Strategic Plan and Reorganization.

This plan is the roadmap for how the LTADD team will continue to support the needs of our region by streamlining our organizational structure. LTADD is better positioned to respond to the needs of municipalities and ADD clients.

The board also heard from the Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail (KCC-LT) and their several key partners, each playing a vital role in our regional “Rapid Response” and long-term training efforts:

  • Business Solutions Team (BST): Working directly with local companies to fill open positions.
  • Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR): Ensuring inclusive employment opportunities for all.
  • Heartland Adult Education: Helping residents bridge the gap in foundational skills and certifications.
  • Career Team: Our direct service provider, focused on high-impact training and placement.

The LTWDB also welcomed Carrie Warren, President of The Bank of Buffalo, to the board. Carrie will be representing LaRue County. Her expertise in local finance and community development will be an invaluable asset as we evaluate new economic opportunities for our neighbors.

We also appreciated the attendance of Mark Ford and James Victery from Congressman Brett Guthrie’s office, who provided updates on federal support for workforce initiatives.
