Join LTADD’s Stuff a Stocking for a Senior initiative to fill the hearts of local seniors

As the holiday season approaches, LTADD Community Aging and Social Engagement (CASE) Team invites our regional partners, stakeholders, and community members to support a deeply meaningful local cause: our annual Stuff a Stocking for a Senior program.
Launched as a pilot project in late 2024, Stuff a Stocking for a Senior delivers festive holiday stockings packed with essential toiletries, warm gifts, and non-perishable food directly to older adults across our eight-county region: Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties.
Recipient seniors are carefully identified through LTADD’s 13 core aging and independent living programs. The campaign specifically targets older adults who are socially isolated, navigating financial strain, or living without immediate family support nearby.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of community supporters, this initiative has expanded steadily each year:
- 2024: 30 seniors served
- 2025: 50 seniors served
- 2026 Goal: 75 seniors served
This year, our focus is heavily centered on addressing food insecurity. Many seniors in Central Kentucky live on fixed incomes and face increasing difficulty affording basic nutritional essentials. To address this need, 2026 stocking deliveries will prioritize non-perishable food items alongside traditional holiday treats and personal care items.
Supporters can contribute in multiple ways:

- Donate online to the Stuff a Stocking for a Senior fund by clicking one of the following links
- Donate individually wrapped non-perishable food items and toiletries by dropping them off at LTADD, 750 N. Provident Way, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
- Financial gifts can be made via check payable to LTADD or through our secure online donation portal, which is set to launch this season.
The community donation window runs through Oct. 30. Following the drive, LTADD staff will assemble the care packages and personally deliver the filled stockings to pre-determined recipients between Nov. 10 and Dec. 11.
Your support ensures that vulnerable, homebound, or isolated seniors across our region know they are valued and remembered this holiday season.
