History: Bradfordsville, an eastern Marion County town, grew up around the mill of Peter Bradford sometime around 1780. The town was known as Centerville, because of its proximity to the center of the state and Bradford’s Mill. The Bradfordsville Post Office opened in 1834. The population in 2004 was 316.
