LTADD Adds New Environmental Specialist To Protect Region

Great planning starts with a deep respect for the land and communities we call home. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our Community Asset Planning & Engineering (CAPE) team: Erin Lay, LTADD’s new Environmental Specialist.

Erin brings a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental science to the role. After moving to the region last year, Erin quickly fell in love with local life in Hodgenville and Elizabethtown, a connection that inspired a desire to serve the region professionally.

When looking for the next step in her career, LTADD proved to be a natural fit.

“I wanted to work at LTADD because I was excited about the opportunity to use my GIS and environmental background to make a positive impact on local communities,” Erin said. “After moving here last year, I’ve grown to love living in Hodgenville and Elizabethtown, and I’m excited to contribute to projects in this area that can help preserve the environment for future generations to enjoy.”

As environmental specialist, Erin will play a key role in helping our eight-county region balance economic growth with environmental stewardship. Using GIS mapping, environmental reviews, and strategic planning, Erin will support local governments as they navigate infrastructure projects, land-use planning, and conservation efforts.

When not mapping data or working on regional environmental initiatives, Erin lives out that love for nature firsthand. In her spare time, you can usually find her hiking local trails, kayaking on area waterways, birding, or capturing nature through wildlife photography. When it’s time to relax indoors, Erin enjoys reading, quilting, and cross-stitch.

Erin’s technical expertise, local pride, and passion for preservation make her an incredible asset to our staff and the communities we serve.
