Employee of the Month: Sheldon Jones
Every day, the team at LTADD works to uplift our communities, and having the right digital tools makes all the difference. We are proud to kick off June by celebrating our IT Specialist, Sheldon Jones, whose hard work and innovative spirit have earned him the title of June Employee of the Month.
Sheldon has been a vital part of the LTADD family for just over two months, having joined the team on March 30. Serving as our IT Specialist, Sheldon is preparing for a significant role, assuming full management of our IT systems upon the retirement of Russell Mays.
The role of an IT Specialist requires a blend of technical mastery and proactive problem-solving. In his short time here, Sheldon’s daily workload has covered a bit of everything, with a major focus on web and system design to ensure our organizational infrastructure remains intuitive and easy to navigate. He has also championed modern workplace solutions, building custom automations within Google Workspace and introducing helpful AI tools to streamline everyone’s daily workflows.
Beyond managing complex background systems, Sheldon provides critical, direct tech support to our staff and community partners. By eliminating technical roadblocks swiftly and effectively, he ensures that the entire LTADD team can work confidently and focus entirely on serving the region.
For Sheldon, stepping into his first official IT role at LTADD has been an incredibly rewarding journey driven by collaboration and growth.
“The best part about LTADD is definitely the people and the opportunity to learn,” Sheldon said. “Being able to soak up knowledge from everyone has been amazing. The team here is so kind and made me feel welcome from day one. I’ve also loved that LTADD supports my professional development, like giving me the chance to attend seminars about emerging AI technologies to bring those skills back to our workflows.”
That dedication to innovation and community impact is exactly what makes Sheldon a standout professional. While his work primarily happens behind the screen, the effects are felt across every department and public service we provide. Sheldon emphasized the scope of LTADD’s regional influence.
“I really wish more people were aware of what LTADD actually does,” Sheldon said. “We handle so many vital public services for the region, and it’s a great organization that more people should know about. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes here to support our communities.”
