Navigating Job Loss with the National Dislocated Workers Grant

An unexpected job loss can shake the foundation of any household. When major employers restructure or downsize, the ripple effects hit our local families, neighborhoods, and economies hard. At LTADD, we believe our regional economy is only as resilient as the support systems we wrap around our workforce during these critical times.

That is why we want to highlight a powerful resource actively working to stabilize our community: the Employment Recovery National Dislocated Worker Grant. Administered in close partnership with our Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board and the Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail, this federally funded initiative by the U.S. Department of Labor is specifically designed to help laid-off workers rapidly pivot, retrain, and launch their next careers.

Right now, this grant is offering targeted, robust intervention for individuals who have lost their jobs from several prominent employers in and around our region, including:

  • BlueOval SK Battery Park (Glendale)
  • Akebono (Elizabethtown)
  • Kentucky Cooperage (Lebanon)
  • Moveret (Elizabethtown)

Even if you were not laid off from one of these specific companies, if you have lost your job through no fault of your own, you are still highly encouraged to apply for dislocated worker services.
