Board of Directors: Guest Speaker  (Aug. 16, 2017)

Michael L. Browder, Sr., Kentucky Field Office Director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) discussed the many programs and innovations that are happening with housing issues in Kentucky at the August 16, 2017 Board Meeting of the Lincoln Trail ADD.

These programs include ones assisting the homeless and veterans among others.

ADF Check: Breckinridge County  (July 19, 2017)

Breckinridge County receives a check for $4,741.31 from the Area Development Fund to be used for the Sheriff’'s Department Repeater Project.

Receiving the check for Breckinridge County is Judge/Executive Maurice Lucas. Lincoln Trail ADD First Vice-Chair, Mayor Edna Berger of Elizabethtown is the presenter.

Also pictured is State Senator Steve Meredith (District 5) and State Representative Dean Schamore (District 10).

Board of Directors: Guest Speaker  (July 19, 2017)

Kentucky Association of Counties Director of Governmental Relations Shellie Hampton addresses the July meeting of the Lincoln Trail ADD Board of Directors.

Ms. Hampton discussed a variety of issues that face Kentucky’s counties including pension programs, tax reform and other funding issues.

Board of Directors: Guest Speaker  (June 21, 2017)

Michelle Elison, Partnership Specialist with the Philadelphia Regional Census Center of the US Census Bureau, speaks to the Lincoln Trail ADD Board of Directors at their June Board Meeting.

Ms. Elison discussed the ongoing preparations for the 2020 Census and the need for local communities to be involved. The first phase will be the update of the Local Update of Census Address (LUCA). Heads of local governments will be asked to review the existing Census address lists and update them with current local information. This is vital to accurate counts which in turn affect local funding dollars received from various federal, state and public agencies for the next 10 years.

The Lincoln Trail ADD is a Census affiliate through the Kentucky State Data Center and is available to assist local units of government in this and other Census related endeavors.

Elizabethtown Mayor Edna Berger receives the 2017 Palmer A. "Pete" Peterson Memorial Award from 2016 recipient Breckinridge County Judge/Executive Maurice Lucas.

Mayor Berger was recognized for her many years of public service to her community.

Mrs. Daisy Coleman, Chair of the Lincoln Trail Aging Advisory Council, presents the 2017 Dorothy M. Dolle Memorial Award to Mrs. Lottie Robey of Marion County.

Mrs. Robey was recognized for her many years of service to her community and her efforts in helping older Americans.

He discussed issues being debated in Congress including healthcare and foreign affairs.

Board of Directors Meeting  (March 15, 2017)

President/CEO Davette Swiney of the Central Kentucky Community Foundation speaks to the Lincoln Trail ADD Board of Directors at their March Board Meeting.

Ms. Swiney provided information on how local communities could help develop endowment funds for ongoing community projects. She illustrated several examples of successful charitable contributions and the state tax advantages of funding these endowments.

Board of Directors Meeting  (Feb. 15, 2017)

Hart County Judge Executive Terry Martin addresses the Lincoln Trail ADD Board of Directors.

Judge Martin discussed Hart County’s involvement with the film industry, the development of the Southern Kentucky Film Commission and the growth of the film industry in Kentucky due to the availability of tax credits from the state.

Board of Directors Meeting  (Jan. 18, 2017)

Dr. Geri Hickerson, Program Coordinator with the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, addresses the January meeting of the Lincoln Trail ADD Board.

Dr. Hickerson discussed with the Board the efforts to expand the VA Medical Foster Home Program. This program oversees veterans having alternatives to nursing home care such as being cared for in a private home setting.
